Soo Locks Compressor Building
Leidal & Hart’s commercial masonry contractors were selected for a new compressor building between the Poe and Davis Locks at the SOO Locks facility in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Detroit District.
The Outcome
The compressor is used in the winter to force air through bubbler pipes along the lock walls and floors to help manage ice.
Leidal & Hart was contracted to install load bearing CMU, an air vapor barrier system with rigid board and limestone panel veneer.
